The Museum celebrates the alwaysevolving drama, human interest and controversy of Tort Law – the law of wrongful injury.
The museum is located at 654 Main Street on Route 44 in Winsted.
The museum offers a unique mix of historic displays, with interactive experiences to illustrate the workings and effect of Tort Law. The museum features Tort Cases that Made a Difference, including exhibits on: Big tobacco; dangerous pharmaceutical products and medical devices; unsafe industrial materials, tools and toys; contaminated foods, and many others.
Nader said, “After you tour this first law museum in the U.S., you’ll likely talk about what you’ve seen with your friends, because it will resonate with many of their own daily experiences and, we hope, their past or future service as jurors. Also, isn’t it good to see how tort law enables the little guys to bring the big boys to justice for their wrongful injuries?”
Torrington and Winsted residents interested in joining these special tours on Saturday are asked to preregister, and may do so by calling 860-379-0505 or email info@tortmusuem.org.
