Visitors can stroll the show, free to the public, on Sunday, June 4, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine, to see more than 150 artists and unique crafters and vendors from across the state. Original artwork will be available including painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry, pottery, metal, fiber arts and more.

Live family-friendly art projects will include the Young @ Art giant mural and other art stations that all are welcome to join in on. Live music will play all day from the stage featuring sets by a dozen local bands and food trucks will be available.

Included in the show are Rebecca Maloney of Naugatuck and Nutmeg Potters, Winsted.

“AITP is an amazing event showcasing many different types of artists,” said Maloney. “With the support of Cynthia Bulaong, the coordinator, artists are encouraged, and Manchester shows pride for statewide artists.”

Rebecca Maloney is a fine artist living and working in Connecticut. She graduated Montserrat College of Art, and has also attended artists’ workshops in mixed media, painting, drawing and printmaking through the US and Europe. She has been painting for over 18 years and also creates collage and mixed media works. Currently Rebecca leads workshops, painting events and takes on commissioned projects. For the past 10 years she has traveled the US and lived in Colorado, Montana and Nevada— locations that fueled her passion for nature and the outdoors— before returning recently to the East Coast to be closer to family. Her work is a reflection of her love of color, the wilderness, texture, and joy.

Artist’s Statement: As a mixed media collage artist, I enjoy the process of adding on, glazing over, ripping off, covering up, subtracting, and collaging. I paint on top of collage to transform it even more. I like to uplift my audience like when you suddenly come upon a gorgeous view outdoors. The act of creating art is entirely personal to each person and anyone can be an artist. Human beings are creators, we were created to create. It is a joy to share my artwork and to inspire others to find the artist in themselves. Expression and discovery of self is what it’s all about. Being able to express myself this way, through my art, is what I am grateful for.

Nutmeg Potters began in 2013 by founder Deb McNulty. Deb was an adult continuing education pottery instructor at the local college. Soon the class outgrew the space and a new location was needed. Many of the students combined efforts and helped open 386 Main Street, Winsted (between Monaco’s and Health Food Corner). Deb McNulty has since relocated. Her five original students, Debbie Angell and Melinda Macomber, Winsted, Jack and Kathy Donohue, Litchfield and Pam Polderman, Barkhamsted kept the studio open and formed Nutmeg Potters, llc in 2015. Since then, several others have joined, including Amy Richardson, Amy Lopez and Susan Matz. Works of art by Nutmeg Potters in Winsted will be available at Manchester’s Art in the Park on June 4.
