Sunday, May 28

Torrington: First Ecclesiast­ical Cemetery on Goshen Rd., Torrington, will hold its annual Memorial Day Service of Recognitio­n on Sun., May 28 at 12 p.m. The public is invited to attend this oldest cemetery in Torrington.

Newfield Cemetery on Mountain Rd., Torrington, will hold its annual Memorial Day Service of Recognitio­n on Sun., May 28 at 2 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Warren: Parade begins 11:30 at Community Center and will proceed to the new Veterans’ Memorial on Cemetery Rd. All are invited to the Fire House after the parade for hot dogs and refreshmen­ts.

Woodbury: Lineup begins at 1 p.m. at Woodbury Middle School. Parade begins at 2 p.m. and heads to the Cannon Green on Main Street for ceremonies.

Monday, May 29

Bridgewate­r: Parade steps off at 8:20 a.m. at the Bridgewate­r Volunteer Firehouse, Route 133/Main St.

Burlington: Town of Burlington’s annual Memorial Day parade and ceremony in the center of town, stepping off at 10 a.m.

Harwinton: Parade steps off at 2 p.m. from Town Hall.

Kent: Parade steps off at 9:30 a.m. on Main Street.

Litchfield: Steps off at 10 a.m., West Street, south end of the green with ceremony at the memorial.

Morris: The American Legion will begin memorial services at the East Morris Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. followed by services at 10 a.m. at the Lakeside Cemetery.

The Morris Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a decorated bike contest. Contestant­s should gather at North Terrell Farm Road by 11:30 a.m. where the bikes will be judged. All units marching should also begin lining up at that time. The parade begins at North Terrell Farm Road and proceeding to the center of Morris and steps off at 12:15 p.m. from the Morris Town Green. Ceremonies on the green follow the parade, followed by a picnic at Morris Town Beach; free, residents asked to bring a dish to share. Free hot dogs and children’s activities, live entertainm­ent by Steve Dunn.

New Hartford: Ceremony at 10 a.m. at Chapin Park (Pine Meadow Green) on Route 44, Main Street; Memorial Bell ringing at 11 a.m. at the site of the old Town Hill Church, Town Hill Rd and Hoppen Rd.

New Milford: Memorial Day activities begin at 10 a.m. with a ceremony in front of the New Milford Public Library on Main Street, immediatel­y followed by the parade around the green.

Roxbury: Parade steps off at 10 a.m. at Roxbury Congregati­onal Church, 24 Church St., to the town green for a ceremony, concluding at Center Cemetery.

Salisbury: Parade begins at 10 a.m., lineup at 9:30 a.m. in front of the Scoville Memorial Library.

Torrington: Parade steps off at 9:30 a.m. from South Main Street. A ceremony follows at Coe Memorial Park in front of the Civic Center.

Winsted: Parade steps off at 11:30 a.m. from town hall, 338 Main St., concludes at East End Park with ceremony.
