Family Food Truck Festival set for June 25

HARWINTON >> The Lions Club of Harwinton will host the first Harwinton Food Truck Festival on Sunday June 25, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at Harwinton Town Hall, 100 Bentley Drive.

The festival will feature more than 20 food trucks, live music, children’s activities, sampling vendors and other local vendors. The event is being sponsored by local businesses including Torrington Savings Bank, Thomaston Savings Bank, Family Propane, LLC, Ultimate Plumbing & Heating, Tax-Pro Service, Litchfield Bancorp and Albreada Refuse & Sweeping.

Lions Club International is commemorating its Centennial Celebration until June 2018, marking 100 years of humanitarian service from Lions across the globe. The Lions Club of Harwinton is introducing the Harwinton Food Truck Festival as part of its ongoing contribution to the centennial with hopes this event grows into an annual event that will attract people from all of Litchfield County and its surrounding areas.

Proceeds from the festival will support local causes including health and community advancement, as well as Harwinton’s annual Hometown Holiday celebration.

There will be plenty of family activities, including a variety of inflatables, caricature drawings and face painting. There will be food sampling vendors and local vendors selling clothing, crafts, food products, pet toys and more.

Food trucks confirmed include 744 Express, Antojos Criollos, Blackie’s Hot Dogs, Bradley Taffy, Bumski’s, Caseus Cheese Truck, Chompers, Cutie Pie’s, DrewbaQ Food Truck, Farmington Farm Truck, Firehouse Grill, Fryborg, Kranky’s Dawgs, Peppermill Catering, Pork Friends & Company, Poutine Gourmet, Sugar Cupcake Truck, Sultan Kebab, Ultimate Sundae and The Whey Station. More will be announced soon.
