Ralph Waldo Emerson said “Be an opener of Doors.” In reviewing the Chamber calendar for June, I cannot help but notice that June, filled with new, exciting initiative­s mixed in with the favorites, will be jazzy and judicious and help you grow and succeed. Here are the highlights. Two have already happened but just wanted you aware of their significan­ce and the impact because doors are always open to you.

Great Giveaway Business Showcase, June 1, 5-8 p.m. Chatterley’s Banquet Facility, 271 Pinewoods Road, Torrington. Over 40 businesses, 40 door prizes, giveaways, delicious food, jazzy music

Free admission, free parking, free food, great business contacts and fun.

Manufactur­er’s Coalition – June 2nd – 8 a.m. An excellent tour with dedicated partners. BD, Route 7 & Grace Way, Canaan. Tour, roundtable discussion, outstandin­g companies participat­ing.

Restaurant in the Spotlight – June 5 –5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Greenhouse Tavern & Café, 511 Spielman Highway, Burlington. Great restaurant, food, beverages – no admission. Meet new friends and business.

Technology Peer Group – June 19 – 8 a.m. Chamber of Commerce offices, 333 Kennedy Drive, Torrington. Organizati­onal meeting; technology gurus needed.

New Member Breakfast – June 22 – 8:30 a.m., at the Chamber of Commerce offices, 333 Kennedy Drive, Torrington. Welcome new members and share business activities.

Business After Hours – June 22, 5 to 7 p.m., at Torrington Savings Bank, 260 Spielman Highway, Burlington. Festivitie­s inside and outside under the tent, and new business contacts.

Business With Breakfast – June 27, 8 a.m. at Pursue the Clues, 733 East Main Street, Torrington.
