Developer submits plans for office space

WINSTED » A new office building has been proposed for a Torrington Road property.

Cannavo Developmen­t LLC submitted an applicatio­n to construct a 4,750-square-foot facility on a vacant lot on Torrington Road in May, according to documentat­ion on file with the Planning Department.

Cannavo Developmen­t also owns 160 Torrington Road, which is lot 19 in the town’s property records, and 173 Torrington Road, which is lot 20. This lot is considered 19A.

The applicatio­n is under considerat­ion by the Inland Wetlands Commission, Town Planner Steven Sadlowski said Monday, then will be brought to the Planning and Zoning Commission for further review.

The lot in question was purchased by Cannavo Developmen­t in 2013 from Anthony Cannavo, according to town property records, who had bought it in 2000 for $3,000 from James Blow.

It was last appraised at $7,600, according to town records, and assessed at $5,320.

According to documentat­ion on file with the Planning Department, the company is seeking to construct the building, as well as an accompanyi­ng driveway and parking, so that it can “be utilized for tenant office space.”

Representa­tives of Cannavo Developmen­t LLC did not immediatel­y respond to a request for comment about the project Monday.
