Met Live in HD season announced
TORRINGTON » The Warner Theatre has announced the 2017-18 Met Opera: Live in HD Season, featuring 10 Saturday matinee simulcasts in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre. This year’s season will include five new productions and two Met premieres and is sponsored by Viron Rondo Osteria.
A complimentary 45 minute pre-opera lecture will be offered in the Studio Theatre Lobby two hours before each broadcast, sponsored by Mitchell Auto Group.
The season opens with Bellini’s “Norma,” on Oct. 7, followed by Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” on Oct. 14, Adés’s “The Exterminating Angel” on Nov. 18, Puccini’s “Tosca” on Jan. 27, Donizetti’s “L’elisir D’amore: on Feb. 10, Puccini’s “La Boheme” on Feb. 24, Rossini’s “Semiramide” on March 10, Mozart’s “Cosi Fan Tutte” on March 31, Verdi’s “Luisa Miller” on April 14 and closes with Massenet’s “Cendrillon” on April 28.
