Miller exhibits newest works at the Loft Gallery
NEW PRESTON » The Loft Gallery at the Smithy Store, 10 Main St., New Preston, is exhibiting recent paintings by Steven Miller.
Miller works in oils on canvas in combination with images inspired by nature. He typically creates in a series, usually painting two to three at a time. Steven states, “These works hold a strong fascination for me and continue to provide me with boundless inspiration. The work I produce is all about color, form and simplicity.”
Steven maintains stu- dios in NYC and in Litch- field County. He often travels outside of the country, and is influenced by the various international cultures that he comes into contact with. He has a new venture in Washington Depot, The Byrde and the b, which highlights a roster of different artists.
His work has been on exhibit across the United States from New York to Los Angeles, and in Europe from London to Cologne, as well as in many private and public collections throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.
His paintings can been viewed in the permanent collections of the University of Virginia’s Bayly Art Museum, the Savannah College of Art & Design Museum in Georgia, Chase Manhattan Bank, Walden International, and most recently, to MOMA’s collection. He is a Vinalhaven Fellow, a Rubenstein Scholar, and a Parsons School of Design Scholar.
His work has been featured in “Sex in the City”, on the TV sitcom “Frasier” and is frequently featured in major Hollywood films.
