Police charge man with selling narcotics
Case connected to fatal overdose
TORRINGTON » A city man was arrested Tuesday and charged with sale of narcotics in connection with a fatal overdose in April, police said.
Michael Crump, 39, of 174 Park Ave. was arrested on a warrant stemming from April 6 and charged with sale of narcotics, according to police.
A 30-year-old man was found unresponsive in his apartment in Torrington on April 6, police said in a release, after officers responded to a call of a person in cardiac arrest who may have overdosed.
He was taken to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, then Hartford Hospital, where he died five days later.
It was determined through an investigation, according to police, that Crump sold the man the heroin that caused his death.
Crump was held on a court-set $50,000 surety bond and appeared in court Wednesday, police said. No further information on the case was available on the state’s judicial website.
