Singer Joan Osborne to play Stage One Nov. 1-2

Joan Osborne is definitely one of the great voices of her generation. She recently developed “The Songs of Bob Dylan” for her residency at Cafe Carlyle in New York. Osborne is a master of interpretation, taking songs both well known and obscure and gracing them with her signature sound.

While so many other contemporary women singers overindulge in delivery and vocal gymnastics, Osborne’s straight forward singing delivers her songs with a distinct energy. She is alluring and engaging on stage, her voice simultaneously gritty and clear, smoky and dark while bright and warm, the perfect match to reimagine and perform the music of Bob Dylan.
