FARMERS MARKET: The Torrington Farmer’s Market is held Saturdays, 10a.m.-1p.m. in the upper parking lot of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 837Charles Street. The Tuesday market runs from 3-6p.m. Offered will be fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, honey and maple syrup, cheese, meats, locally produced soaps, children’s books and more. Come see what is new with your local farmers and catch up with your neighbors.

SALISBURY MARKET: The new Salisbury Farmers Market will be held every Saturday morning, 10a.m.-1p.m. on the lawn at the Scoville Library, with an array of vegetables, meats, cheeses, rustic breads, jams, vinegar and plants plus occasional guest appearance­s by chefs and other food producers. Markets continue weekly through October.

PARISH PICNIC: The Third Annual Norfolk Parish Picnic of Immaculate Conception/St Martin of Tours Parish welcomes all on Saturday, Aug. 12, 1-5p.m. on the church grounds. Food served from 1-4p.m., followed by mass under a tent at 5p.m. Live music by Erin Og, games for children and adults include a dunk tank, pony rides and a “ride the shark.” Raffle tickets are available. ART SHOW: The 58th Annual Rose Algrant Art Show, featuring Cornwall artists’ paintings, photograph­y, drawings, ceramics, textiles, prints, linens, sculpture, jewelry and more, will be held Aug. 11, 5-8p.m., Aug. 12, 10a.m.-5 p.m. and Aug. 13, 10a.m.-12 p.m. This year, 15% of the show’s proceeds will go to The Cornwall Library.
