HOSPITAL HEROINES: Dane Deleppo, a Civil War re-enactor, will present “Hospital Heroines” at the T.A. Hungerford Memorial Museum in Harwinton, Sunday at 1 p.m., exploring the role of nurses and civilian organizations during the American Civil War with a slide show and several artifacts from the Hungerford Museum collection. Tuesday, Aug. 15 FARMERS MARKET: The Torrington Farmer’s Market is held Saturdays, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the upper parking lot of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 837 Charles Street. The carnival fea- tures, food including Tower 1 famous fried dough, a beer garden, dunk tank, rides, games, bingo, blower ball, and live music. A DJ will play music on Friday and Saturday night. Wrist band night is Wednesday and fireworks will be held on Friday night. One of the last parades of the season will be held on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. down Main Street.
