The Register Citizen (Torrington, CT)
It’s time to renew
The reminders from Franklin Covey are encouraging. “Turn over a new leaf and a new page each day…renew and refresh the aspects of your life.”
The suggestions focus on these areas: professional, financial, physical, social, mental and spiritual. You are encouraged to participate in these Chamber initiatives because your life will be re-invigorated as never before.
Professional
Rearrange your calendar for the monthly meeting of the Manufacturing Coalition on September 1st at the Chamber. A number of area business leaders who are thriving despite the ever changing economy will attend for the roundtable. Pam La Rosa, our new Chamber staff member serving as Director of Workforce Operations, will give a fresh perspective on the resources available to manufacturers to train and hire employees.
Financial
Refurbish your minds by taking advantage of an interesting and informative Roundtable on Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 8-9 a.m., presented by Barron Financial. I am intrigued by the title, “Politics, the Economy and You.” It is an interesting and challenging time for all of us. Please join us for this important session.
Physical
It’s not too late to help push me “Over the Edge” on Saturday, Sept. 16 from Torrington Towers. Go to https://otecwe.com/nwconnecticut/joann-ryan/.
I am approximately $1,200 away from my goal, so every $10 contribution will help Prime Time House, the NW CT Arts Council and the Chamber’s Education Foundation. You can join me by rappelling too! Call for updates.
Social
Recreate a whole new group of customers and friends by taking part in the Chamber initiatives that encourage you to make new friends and build a stronger customer base. Check our calendar for Business After Hours, Business With Breakfast, Learn At Lunch and Restaurant In The Spotlight.
Mental
Remodel your leadership role by taking part in Leadership NW, sponsored by the Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board. This is a valuable program that includes nine sessions on a variety of topics designed to give you increased leadership, organizational and problem solving skills as well as a new access to a network of community leaders and resources.
Spiritual
Replenish your mind, body and soul by spending Oct. 6 with us at the WOW Forum in the Carole & Ray Neag Performing
Arts Center of The Warner Theatre. You will be encouraged to dream big and learn from an amazing group of speakers that the Beauty of Business enriches all of us.
I hope I have encouraged you to turn over a new leaf by joining us for all of the above and the many other initiatives that you can find on our website. WOW! It’s time to renew!
