Local residents receive degrees at 149th WPI Commencement

WORCESTER, MA » On Saturday, May 13, on the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) campus quadrangle, over 1,000 bachelor’s degrees were awarded during the university’s 149th commencement ceremony.

Anna Wortman of Woodbury, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in biology and biotechnology with distinction.

Maxwell Foster of Harwinton, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering with distinction.

Hope Shevchuk of Burlington, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering with high distinction.

Samuel Shurberg of Morris, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in electrical and computer engineering.

Stephen Blouin of Torrington, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in electrical and computer engineering with distinction.

Jonas McGowan-Martin of Woodbury, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in interactive media and game development.

Megan Belval of Woodbury, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering with high distinction.

Muping Chen of Torrington, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in physics with high distinction.

Joseph Fainer of Thomaston, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in robotics engineering.
