Local residents receive degrees at 149th WPI Commenceme­nt

WORCESTER, MA » On Saturday, May 13, on the Worcester Polytechni­c Institute (WPI) campus quadrangle, over 1,000 bachelor’s degrees were awarded during the university’s 149th commenceme­nt ceremony.

Anna Wortman of Woodbury, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in biology and biotechnol­ogy with distinctio­n.

Maxwell Foster of Harwinton, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineerin­g with distinctio­n.

Hope Shevchuk of Burlington, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineerin­g with high distinctio­n.

Samuel Shurberg of Morris, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in electrical and computer engineerin­g.

Stephen Blouin of Torrington, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in electrical and computer engineerin­g with distinctio­n.

Jonas McGowan-Martin of Woodbury, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in interactiv­e media and game developmen­t.
