SATURDAY, SEPT. 23

CONCERT FOR TEXAS: A concert, “Give Texas A Hand”, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 23 at the First United Methodist Church, 21 Fern Drive, Torrington, at 4 p.m. Greg O’Brien, former contracted announcer with ESPN will be Master of Ceremonies. The concert will be filled will exciting music from the choirs of the church as well as several soloists and a brass ensemble. All donations will go directly to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee On Relief) to help the people of Texas. Following the concert, all are invited to a sandwich supper for fellowship and to meet the performers.

FAMILY NATURE DAY:

The 36th Annual Family Nature Day at White Memorial Conservati­on Center, Litchfield, will be held Saturday, Sept. 23, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., $6 admission, free to members and under 12. All are invited to the Clean Up Green Up Day in Cornwall on Saturday, Sept. 23, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Help pick up trash along selected town roads and green up the library with planted flowers.
