Women’s Forum to address ‘best-self’ health, beauty
LITCHFIELD — The Women’s Forum of Litchfield welcomes all to what promises to be a lively and informative program, “Being Your Best Self” that will be held at the Litchfield Community Center at 421 Bantam Road in Litchfield on Thursday, Oct. 5, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Facilitator Joseph Montebello will lead the discussion about the latest methods for optimal health and beauty at any age, and the changing attitudes towards aging.
The panel includes four professionals in their various fields of expertise. Dr. Alicia D. Zalka received her undergraduate degree from Boston University, and graduated with honors from Mt. Sinai School of Medicine.
She is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Clinical Attending at the Yale University Department of Dermatology, and also on staff at Danbury Hospital and New Milford Hospital.
Dr. Amir Nasir is a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery who specializes in all aspects of cosmetic surgery including facial rejuvenation, breast surgery, body contouring, fat transfers (including Brazilian butt lifts) and liposuction. Another area that interests him is cosmetic surgery for men who have their own distinct needs and approaches to surgery.
Carla Angevine, MS RDN is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and is the Clinical Nutrition Manager at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, where she is responsible for providing Medical Nutrition Therapy to inpatients and Intensive Behavioral Nutrition Counseling to outpatients.
She has been active in CHH’s community initiative; Fit Together and developed an eight week nutrition and movement program for at-risk children.
She is also a certified health coach and fitness instructor.
Tonya Benvenuti, general manager of Litchfield Athletic Club, has been in the Fitness industry for 17 years.
Her main focus is “on the whole body, and to keep people moving!”
The event will be open to non-Forum members with a $10 fee at the door, which includes a High Tea reception.
