Sean Patrick Bowley’s Guide to Week 6

-

FRIDAY

Visitor Home Time The Skinny Prince (3-0) Quinebaug (2-2) 5:30 p.m. Prince escaped ATI, should cruise for a couple weeks

Ludlowe (0-4) Trinity Catholic (1-3) 6 p.m. Get your wins while you can in the FCIAC.

Griswold (2-2) Montville (2-2) 6:30 p.m. Neither team’s wins so far are terribly impressive.

Waterford (0-3) Windham (0-4) 6:30 p.m. Good thing the CIAC doesn’t allow ties anymore.

Bassick (0-5) Ledyard (1-3) 6:30 p.m. Ledyard finally gets a home game out of this deal.

Fairfield Prep (4-1) New London (1-3) 6:30 p.m. One of those ‘looks better on paper’ games, we think.

Vinal Co-Op (0-4) ATI (1-3) 7 p.m.

This should be a lot less frustrating for ATI than last week

Norwalk (2-2) Trumbull (2-2) 7 p.m. OK, fellas. It’s sink or swim time.

Darien (4-0) Staples (3-1) 7 p.m.

Staples can play, yes, but can it win a big FCIAC game?

Stamford (1-3) McMahon (1-3) 7 p.m. McMahon would just love a 2-game win streak.

Brookfield (2-2) Guilford (3-1) 7 p.m. How much longer can Guilford keep this up?

Bunnell (3-1) Hand (4-1) 7 p.m. It’s a good ol’ Coastal Conference reunion!

Creed Co-Op (1-4) Weston (2-2) 7 p.m. Offense has been a trouble spot for Creed all year

East Lyme (3-1) Barlow (3-1) 7 p.m. Could be a great matchup... If Vikes can find Redding

Fitch (4-0) Branford (1-4) 7 p.m. Remember: Fitch dismantled NFA a few weeks ago.

Lyman Hall (3-2) Bethel (0-4) 7 p.m. Win here, and Trojans can set sights on winning season (!)

Masuk (4-0) Amity (1-4) 7 p.m. Johnson Field will bring back Benedict memories for Masuk.

New Milford (1-3) Hamden (1-4) 7 p.m. Good news Hamden, New Milford surrenders a lot of points.

New Fairfield (1-3) Hillhouse (3-2) 7 p.m. Both teams’ stocks have tanked since last year’s M quarterfinal.

Pomperaug (1-3) North Haven (3-2) 7 p.m. Getting out of SCC Tier I is like dropping extra bats in the on-deck circle.

Shelton (4-1) Newtown (3-1) 7 p.m. Shelton is Newtown’s interleague White Whale (0-3 since 2008)

SATURDAY

Visitor Home Time The Skinny O’Brien (4-0) Thames River (1-3) 10 a.m. Aprea and Condors’ dream season marches onward.

Danbury (0-4) Warde (2-2) 11 a.m.

Warde’s season goes straight uphill after this.

Woodstock (2-2) CREC (1-3) 11 a.m.

These clubs are 2-1 vs. Massachusetts teams, just FYI.

Wethersfield (1-3) Hartford Public (0-4) 12 p.m. Wethersfield probably hated getting bye after big Platt win.

Bullard-Havens (5-0) MWC United (0-3) 12 p.m. Maybe Tyrese should hang back in this one?

Killingly (4-0) Bacon Academy (2-2) 12 p.m. Killingly’s Lockwood averages 235.5 rushing yards a game. Sheesh.

Wilton (2-2) Central (0-3) 12 p.m.

Warriors have had 2 weeks to stew over their St. Joseph loss.

Valley/OL (3-1) Nonnewaug (1-3) 12 p.m. Expect Valley to unleash a week’s worth of frustration

Harding (1-4) Stratford (1-3) 1:30 p.m. You’re an official SCC team now, Harding. Show your stuff.

Ridgefield (3-1) St. Joseph (3-1) 2 p.m. Start your Saturday here.

New Canaan (3-1) Greenwich (3-0) 4 p.m. Then run down here.

NFA (2-2) West Haven (5-0) 7 p.m.
