God knows every detail of our lives and that’s good

- Billy Graham

Dear Dr. Graham: I’ve tried to live a good life, but in the back of my mind I wonder what God really thinks about me. Or is he too busy to even worry about us? Mrs. K.W.

Dear Mrs. K.W.: Let me assure you that God is so great that he knows all about us, and is concerned about every detail of our lives! Jesus said that not a single sparrow “will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered” (Matthew 10:29-30).

After all, if God was great enough to make even the smallest sub-atomic particle or the tiniest microscopic bacteria, why do we think He’s too big to be concerned about us? he didn’t create us and then forget all about us — not at all.

One of the Bible’s greatest truths is that God knows each one of us — and the reason is because he loves us.

As the Bible says, “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:13).

Does this alarm you or make you feel uncomfortable? Yes, it probably does — and with good reason, for down inside we know that we have failed to measure up to God’s standard. We have sinned, and no matter how hard we try, we can never erase the stain of sin from our lives.

But God still loves us — and because he loves us, he has provided the way for us to be forgiven and cleansed.
