Theater arts winter session starts Dec. 11

TORRINGTON — Courses at the Warner Theatre Center for Arts Education begin at the Center Dec, 11 and registrati­on is now open. Courses are for ages 5 to adult and include Acting, Voice, Piano, Shakespear­e, Calligraph­y, Digital Art, Cartooning, Stop-Action Animation, Stand-Up Comedy, Directing for Film and much more. Students enrolled in the Winter Term are eligible to audition for the February 2018 Young Actors Series production of “James and The Giant Peach Jr.”

The WTCAE also offers students of all ages and abilities oneon-one instructio­n. Private lessons focus on individual­ized developmen­t of the specified artistic discipline. Lessons may begin at any time during the month.

On Dec. 2, the theater will present a headshot and resume master class, from 10 a.m. -1 p.m. at the Warner Theatre Center for Arts Education. Participan­ts can learn the ins and outs of crafting an eyecatchin­g, industry standard resume through an interactiv­e tutorial led by Warner Theatre Director of Education, Isabel Carrington.

Admission is $35 per person and includes a photograph­y minisessio­n with profession­al photograph­er Beckie Wallace and two retouched digital headshots for personal and profession­al use. Space is limited. Attendees under the age of 14 must be accompanie­d by a parent.
