Newtown Cyclocross Race held Nov. 5

DANBURY — The Newtown Cyclocross presented by the CT Cycling Advancemen­t Program (CCAP) Nov. 5, and Team 26 staged 12 races, with 197 riders of all ages competing at the Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard stables in Newtown nearly five years after the tragic events at Sandy Hook. CCAP appreciate­d the gracious presence throughout the day by Major James Marrinan, Commanding Officer of the Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard.

Funds raised support the CCAP and Team 26. The race sponsors were Cannondale and Ovens of France. For more details, interested cyclists or their families may visit CCAP on Facebook ctcyclinga­dvancement.org.

Team 26 is a group of cyclists affected by the tragedy at Sandy Hook School.
