KEEP AN EYE ON

Track meet? Arkansas loves to apply fullcourt pressure and speed up the game, the same ideology Nolan Richardson employed while leading the team to the 1994 national title and that current head man Mike Anderson used in his five seasons at Missouri. UConn wants to run, as well, though it hasn’t been able to press and get out on the break as much as Kevin Ollie would have liked so far this season. How’ve you been? UConn is 3-0 all-time against Arkansas, the last win coming on Dec. 3, 2011, in Anderson’s first year at the Razorbacks’ helm. That’s not the first time UConn has defeated Anderson, however. When Anderson was head man at Missouri in 2009, the Huskies 82-75 in an Elite Eight game out in Glendale, Arizona to earn a spot in the program’s third Final Four.

Injury report. The Huskies didn’t practice on Saturday, so they weren’t able to gauge how well Eric Cobb’s high ankle sprain is coming along. Cobb, the 6-foot-9, 280-pound junior forward, has missed both games in this tournament after injuring the ankle early in UConn’s win over Boston University a week ago. Alterique Gilbert, who underwent season-ending shoulder surgery last November, left Friday night’s loss to Michigan State for the locker room for a few moments after banging his shoulder. Trainer James Doran removed Gilbert’s shoulder brace and put on a new one, and the redshirt freshman returned to the game and is apparently fine.
