KEEP AN EYE ON

⏩ Pointing the way: Being a point guard at UConn is hardly a walk in the park. Everything Crystal Dangerfield accomplishes will be compared to those who came before her, and if Diana Taurasi is considered as a point guard, that means six players who manned the point are in the Huskies of Honor. Through eight games of her sophomore season, Dangerfield’s numbers compare rather favorably with the legendary floor leaders. She has posted the best assist/turnover ratio, second best 3-point percentage and second most assists.

⏩ Huskies getting healthier: It looked as if this would be the first time this season all 13 UConn players would be available, but freshman forward Megan Walker is dealing with the flu and has missed the last few practices. UConn coach Geno Auriemma said she won’t play, but she could return Friday when the Huskies meet Duquesne. Sophomore forward Batouly Camara made her season debut the last time out against DePaul after suffering a knee injury in the preseason. She could get some of Walker’s minutes.

⏩ Milestone watch: UConn senior guard Kia Nurse’s next 3-pointer will be the 200th of her career. She will become the 12th UConn player with 200 career 3-pointers. Katie Lou Samuelson hit that mark earlier this season, meaning it will be the second time in program history that the Huskies would have two active players with 200 treys. During the 2013-14 season, Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis and Bria Hartley were the first duo to accomplish that feat. Also, Gabby Williams has 238 career steals, which is 14th in UConn history. Cathy Bochain is 13th with 240 steals and Sue Bird 12th with 243.
