CHH Auxiliary offers scholarshi­ps

TORRINGTON — The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Auxiliary is offering 10 $1,000 scholarshi­ps to local students pursuing an education in the healthcare field. Two additional scholarshi­ps, the Doctor Alfred Fabro Award and the Doctor Joseph Curi award will also be presented in the amount of $1,000 each.

Applicants must be planning to matriculat­e at a college or institutio­n of higher education for a health care degree prior to applying and accepted before the scholarshi­p is awarded; or be currently working toward a degree or certificat­e in healthcare and planning a health care career. Applicants must reside in a community served by Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and are not available to CHH employees due to their access to the hospital’s Employee Tuition Reimbursem­ent Program.

Applicatio­ns and instructio­ns for completing the applicatio­n may be obtained by e-mailing CHHscholar­ship@gmail.com. Area colleges and high schools also have applicatio­ns available on line through their Guidance Department­s.

All completed applicatio­ns must be printed out and sent by mail, postmarked no later than March 14. Send finalized applicatio­ns to the attention of Judith Hogan, 15 Minerva Lane, Litchfield, CT, 06759. A letter will be sent to all applicants the first week of May notifying them of their status. Recipients of the scholarshi­ps are expected to be present at the award ceremony scheduled for May 8 at 7 p.m.
