COMMUNITY FORUM: The Burlington Community Fund in cooperation with the Town of Burlington present a “The Reality of Opioid Abuse,” a community forum, Jan. 10, 7 p.m. in the Lewis S. Mills High School Auditorium. The public is welcome. Moderator is Tom Farrey of the Aspen Institute. Panelists include representatives from The McCall Center for Behavioral Health, State Police, BVFD-EMT, and counseling centers. Discussion to include the use of substances from young adults to the elderly, interventions and resources available to help. In addition, resources will be on site to help community members who may be affected by this crisis.
RHYTHM AND RHYME: Rhythm and Rhyme, for 9-35 month-old children with a caregiver, is held Wednesdays through Jan. 31, 10:30 a.m. at the Burlington Public Library. FLANDERS NATURE SAFARI: While off from school for the Martin Luther King Day holiday, children in grades K-5 are invited to “A Flanders Nature Safari Adventure” where they will spend the day learning about the animals that live at Flanders and in the wild and taking a hike to find tracks to see who is active in the snow, on Monday, Jan. 15. Sessions are from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., 1-5 p.m. or 9 a.m.-5 p.m. This will be a fun filled day packed with exploring the great outdoors, and age appropriate stories, games and crafts.
