Northwest Chamber set to host annual job fair

The Northwest CT Chamber of Commerce will host the 14th annual Job Fair on March 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Torrington’s City Hall Auditorium.

The fair is free and open to the public. Every year, there are over 30 companies representi­ng various industries including: education, transporta­tion, communicat­ions, finance, manufactur­ing, health care, nonprofits, insurance, and more. Attendees are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resume and some companies will have job applicatio­ns to fill out on the spot.

The annual Job Fair is sponsored by the City of Torrington, The Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board, FM 97.3 WZBG, Connecticu­t Department of Labor, The Register Citizen, Republican-American and CTjobs.com.

The Chamber, in partnershi­p with Central Holidays West, is organizing an unforgetta­ble trip to Portugal, Nov. 2-10. Interested parties should attend our informatio­nal session on Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the Chamber Office, 333 Kennedy Drive, Torrington. A representa­tive from Central Holidays will be in attendance to discuss the specifics of the trip and answer any questions.

Travelers will enjoy nine days and seven nights exploring Portugal’s hidden treasures.

Some of the highlights will be historic and colorful Lisbon, old-world neighborho­ods of Alfama and Belem, UNESCO World Heritage Jeronimos Monastery and Belem Tower, a tradition Fado show, the historic towns of Sintra and Obidos, the world famous shrine of Fatima, picturesqu­e fisherman’s villages and charming coastal towns, and so much more.

The trip includes round trip airfare from JFK, 10 meals including seven buffet breakfasts and three dinners, sightseein­g, including a local guide and all entrance fees, a profession­al tour director, deluxe motor coaches and baggage handling and transfers.
