BOYS BASKETBALL: FIVE PLAYERS TO WATCH IN THE CIAC STATE TOURNAMENTS
MIKEY BUSCETTO, WATERFORD
Point guard makes things go for the Eastern Connecticut Conference champions. Now Buscetto hopes to help the Lancers win some additional hardware in the Class M division at the Mohegan Sun Arena floor in a couple of weeks.
GEORGE GAMBLE, WINDSOR
A true difference maker, Windsor wasn’t the same team in the beginning of the season without the injured senior. Now the bruising power forward will make the Warriors a very tough out. He was the best player on the floor in the CCC tournament final against East Catholic — a team Windsor could see for the fourth time in the Division I quarterfinals.
DELSHAWN JACKSON, PRINCE TECH
For those that live in the Greater New Haven area, you can see the high-scoring senior guard play at Platt Tech in Milford Monday night for the CTC tournament championship. Team played a solid non-conference schedule to get ready for the Division III tournament. No one has been able to stop Jackson so far.
DEV OSTROWSKI, EAST LYME
Yes, players in Division III are getting a lot of run here, but deservedly so. Ostrowski was the main reason the Vikings were the regular season champions in the ECC, a tournament finalist and a Top 10 team for a portion of the season. Can score at will from anywhere on the floor.
TYLER THOMAS, AMITY
The reigning SCC Player of the Year gets it done either in the flow of the offense or when he decides to take games over. Seniors lead in March, and Thomas will need to if the Spartans are to advance to the second week in Division II.
