‘The Irish ...’ wraps this weekend at the Warner Theatre

“The Irish … and How They Got That Way”

The Warner Stage Company concludes its run of Frank McCourt’s “The Irish … and How They Got That Way,” a musical celebratio­n of Irish heritage in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre, with performanc­es March 15-18.

Created by the late Pulitzer Prize-winning “Angela’s Ashes” author, a former resident of Roxbury, the show is a celebratio­n of a heritage that confronts adversity with determinat­ion, good humor, music and a love of life.

The Warner’s production is directed and choreograp­hed by Meredith Porri with music direction by John Dressel. The cast features Bret Bisaillon, Susan Kulp, L. Nagel and Josh Newey.

Performanc­es are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. It is presented by special arrangemen­t with The Irish Repertory Company.

Impact 2018

The Nutmeg Ballet Conservato­ry will present Impact 2018, March 24 and 25, in the Warner’s Nancy Marine Studio Theatre.

This year’s Impact features excerpts from Acts 2 and 3 from the much beloved Swan Lake, staged by Eleanor D’Antuono, Alexei Tchernicho­v and Denise Warner Limoli.

The performanc­es include excerpts from Carmen, with original choreograp­hy by Kirk Peterson; a new modern work by Kate St. Amand; and an exciting new collaborat­ion between Artistic Director Victoria Mazzarelli and Charles Patterson. Featuring live music performed by Patterson’s quartet JINQS, this new piece features Nutmeg dancers performing original choreograp­hy set to music by jazz greats John Coltrane and Thelonius Monk.

Performanc­es of Impact are March 24 at 7 p.m. and March 25 at 2 p.m.

Met in HD: “Cose fan Tutte”

The Met Opera Live in HD Season continues in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre on Saturday, March 31 at 12:55 p.m. with Mozart’s “Cose fan Tutte.” A compliment­ary 45 minute preopera lecture by Jeffrey Engel will be offered in the Studio Lobby at 10:55 a.m.

Set in a fun-house environmen­t inspired by 1950s Coney Island, complete with bearded ladies, fireeaters and a Ferris Wheel, the winning cast features Amanda Majeski as the conflicted Fiordiligi, Serena Malfi as her sister Dorabella, Tony Award-winner Kelli O’Hara as Despina, Ben Bliss and Adam Plachetka as the sisters’ fiancé’s and Christophe­r Maltman as the cynical Don Alfonso. Phelim McDermott’s clever vision of Mozart’s comedy about the sexes is conducted by David Robertson.
