‘The Irish ...’ wraps this weekend at the Warner Theatre

“The Irish … and How They Got That Way”
The Warner Stage Company concludes its run of Frank McCourt’s “The Irish … and How They Got That Way,” a musical celebration of Irish heritage in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre, with performances March 15-18.
Created by the late Pulitzer Prize-winning “Angela’s Ashes” author, a former resident of Roxbury, the show is a celebration of a heritage that confronts adversity with determination, good humor, music and a love of life.
The Warner’s production is directed and choreographed by Meredith Porri with music direction by John Dressel. The cast features Bret Bisaillon, Susan Kulp, L. Nagel and Josh Newey.
Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. It is presented by special arrangement with The Irish Repertory Company.

Impact 2018
The Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory will present Impact 2018, March 24 and 25, in the Warner’s Nancy Marine Studio Theatre.
This year’s Impact features excerpts from Acts 2 and 3 from the much beloved Swan Lake, staged by Eleanor D’Antuono, Alexei Tchernichov and Denise Warner Limoli.
The performances include excerpts from Carmen, with original choreography by Kirk Peterson; a new modern work by Kate St. Amand; and an exciting new collaboration between Artistic Director Victoria Mazzarelli and Charles Patterson. Featuring live music performed by Patterson’s quartet JINQS, this new piece features Nutmeg dancers performing original choreography set to music by jazz greats John Coltrane and Thelonius Monk.
Performances of Impact are March 24 at 7 p.m. and March 25 at 2 p.m.
Met in HD: “Cose fan Tutte”
The Met Opera Live in HD Season continues in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre on Saturday, March 31 at 12:55 p.m. with Mozart’s “Cose fan Tutte.” A complimentary 45 minute preopera lecture by Jeffrey Engel will be offered in the Studio Lobby at 10:55 a.m.
Set in a fun-house environment inspired by 1950s Coney Island, complete with bearded ladies, fireeaters and a Ferris Wheel, the winning cast features Amanda Majeski as the conflicted Fiordiligi, Serena Malfi as her sister Dorabella, Tony Award-winner Kelli O’Hara as Despina, Ben Bliss and Adam Plachetka as the sisters’ fiancé’s and Christopher Maltman as the cynical Don Alfonso. Phelim McDermott’s clever vision of Mozart’s comedy about the sexes is conducted by David Robertson.
