CHESS CLUB: The Litchfield County Chess Club meets Thursdays at the Torrington Library, 12 Daycoeton Place, Torrington, from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. on Thursdays. SENIOR LUNCHEON: Litchfield’s Senior Luncheon, hosted by Litchfield Parks and Recreation, will be held at 12 p.m., March 22 at the Litchfield Community Center. The event will include entertainment by singer-songwriter Ian Campbell, and catered by the culinary students of Oliver Wolcott Technical School. Lasagna, salad, bread, dessert, all-included in the $10 ticket. STUDENT ART SHOW: The Torrington Library is partnering with local schools to host a student art show through March 28. The public may view student work from 4 to 8 p.m. every Wednesday and Thursday and from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and March 1 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. A closing reception will be held March 28 from 5 to 7 to congratulate the students. NORFOLK FARMERS MARKET: The Norfolk Farmers Market has announced its winter dates for 2018. All markets will be held inside the Norfolk Town Hall, 29 Maple Ave., Norfolk, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Remaining dates are March 24, April 7 and April 21. PEACE ACTION RALLY: Winsted Area Peace Action is planning a local rally in Winsted, in support of the Parkland, Florida, student-led marches throughout the country for safe gun laws and safety in schools. The rally will be held Saturday, 12:30 p.m. at East End Park, coinciding with marches in Washington D.C. and Hartford.
BENEFIT DANCE: Dance with The Harlem Line R&B/rock band, at the White Hart Inn to benefit the Jane Lloyd Fund on Saturday, March 24, 8:30-11 p.m. The Jane Lloyd Fund raises and distributes funds to help cancer patients in our community meet their day-to-day financial obligations.
