Flanders offers events for spring break

WOODBURY — Flanders is offering a spring break program for area students with April 1620 off from school. Children in kindergart­en through 5th grade can attend.

⏩ Exploratio­n will be the theme for Monday and Tuesday with hikes to the pond, marsh and brook to discover and “catch and release” the creatures found there while discoverin­g amazing facts about them.

⏩ On Wednesday and Thursday, the focus is all about animals. On Wednesday, kids will can meet the newest Flanders spring arrivals of chicks, lambs, kids and bunnies and then hike the trails to discover newborns in nature.

⏩ On Thursday, kids can try their hand at being a farmer for the day at Flanders North Barn. They will help with “farm chores” like feeding the sheep, goats, horse and pigs and collecting eggs from the chickens and then take a fun hayride.

⏩ Friday is all about being a nature detective. Search for clues, follow tracks and discover signs of wildlife in the forest, ponds and fields. A full day of nature investigat­ion.

Activities will be based at the Flanders’ Trail House located on Church Hill Road in Woodbury. Advance registrati­on is required.

Flanders is offering three different sessions for each of these special fun days. Choose the morning session from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., the afternoon session from 1-5 p.m., or a full day session which goes from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Advance registrati­on is required. The cost per child each day for either the morning or afternoon session is $30 members and $40 for nonmembers. Full day cost for each day is $60 for members and $80 for nonmembers. Before and after care is available at $8 per hour.
