Erin Stewart most qualified to be governor
To the Editor:
For the last seven years Connecticut has wandered through the darkness. Through the fog of over taxation, burdensome regulations and partisanship we struggled to get by.
As money was freely given to corporations with no strings attached, political parties grew farther apart and spending was out of control; Connecticut fell further and further behind the rest of the nation. Finally, someone has stood up and said enough is enough.
A new day is upon us. A bright, shining star in New Britain has risen to lead Connecticut out of the darkness. Mayor Erin Stewart has led the way for New Britain, turning their overwhelming deficits into a surplus. Stewart has made the tough decisions when necessary; she’s reached across the aisle to move New Britain forward. Stewart has returned pride to New Britain.
It is time we get behind and support someone who will not divide us, but who will unite us. It is time we elect someone who will govern responsibly and make the tough decisions that are in the best interests of Connecticut. It is time that we elect someone who will show fiscal responsibility. It is time we elect someone who will not hold petty grudges but will act responsibly. Stewart will return turn Connecticut around, Erin Stewart will return pride to Connecticut.
I wholeheartedly endorse Erin Stewart to be the next governor of the state of Connecticut. Todd Arcelaschi Winsted selectman
Esty should not resign
To the Editor:
Enough already with all this “resign now!” nonsense regarding Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty.
Most of us here in Northwest Connecticut, who know how hard Esty has worked for area residents and especially including our veterans,
demand she stick to her guns and tell the naysayers to take a hike. With compassion and patience and care as well as smarts, Esty has done her best for people in Connecticut and in America.
To those who seek political advantage by demanding she resign for someone else’s alleged actions, we must recall this: “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” Time to re-learn lessons Jesus Christ taught centuries ago and apply them.
