BUNCO FOR SCHOLARSHIPS: Veneta Ladies Auxiliary Bunco for Scholarships fundraiser will be held April 6 at the Veneta Soceity, 108 Central Ave., Torrington. LARC WINE TASTING: The Arc of Litchfield County (LARC) Annual Spring Wine Tasting serves up a wonderful, convivial evening on Friday, April 6 from 6-9 p.m. at Chatterley’s Banquet Hall, 371 Pinewoods Rd, Torrington. Tiekcts are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. VIP tickets are $60 with premiere wines, scotch, bourbon and hors-d’oeuvres upstairs in the VIP room. FLANDERS WILDFLOWERS: The Flanders Nature Center and Land Trust will host area naturalists Peter and Barbara Rzasa Friday, April 6, 7 p.m., for a PowerPoint presentation featuring photos taken by Barbara, an accomplished photographer highlighting the “Wildflowers of Flanders.”.Discover interesting facts about these native wildflowers as stories and flower folklore about them is shared. WELLNESS FAIR: The Northwest Corner Prevention Network in partnership with Housatonic Valley Regional High School is sponsoring its second annual community Wellness Fair Friday, April 6, 1:30- 5:30 p.m. at the high school, 246 Warren Turnpike Road, Falls Village. NORFOLK FARMERS MARKET: The Norfolk Farmers Market has announced its winter dates for 2018. All markets will be held inside the Norfolk Town Hall, 29 Maple Ave., Norfolk, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Remaining dates are April 7 and April 21. MANUFACTURING EXHIBIT, TALK: The Cornwall Library is hosting programs to commemorate Connecticut’s manufacturing history. The exhibit, “Brazen Grit: Images of Brass Valley” with photographs by Emery (Ted) Roth, II and Lazlo Gyorsok, is on view through April . On Saturday, April 7 at 4 p.m., Ted Roth will give a talk and slideshow which elaborate on this legendary part of the state’s history and its culture. Sen. CHILI COOKOFF: The Roxbury Congregational Church, 24 Church St., will host its third annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, April 7, from 5-7:30 p.m. There will be a variety of different chilies for sampling, including vegetarian, all prepared by local restaurants and caterers as well as live entertainment by musician Don Lowe and raffles for gift certificates to local venues. After sampling, vote for your favorite chili, and have a bowl for dinner with salad, beverage, cornbread, and dessert. BEER HUNT: The Torrington Elks Lodge #372 will hold an Easter Beer Hunt on Saturday, April 7, 11 a.m.-3 p.m, first hunt at noon , at Elks Pond, 180 Guerdat Road, Torrington. Half of all proceeds will go to local Veterans. Over 21 only, tickets $25 include beer, wine and soda, food for sale, raffles and many prizes as well as a silent auction. Three timed “hunts” in three different designated hunting areas of the Elks Pond location will have Ten Golden Eggs with donated prizes from area businesses. PANCAKE BREAKFAST, COLLECTION DRIVE: Boy Scouts Troop 1027 in Winsted is holding its fifth annual pancake breakfast and raffle, Saturday, April 7, 8-11 a.m. at the St. Anthony’s Parish Center, 55 Oak Street, Winsted. The all-you-can-eat breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, coffee and orange juice; tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for children under age 10. Take out is available. The troop is collecting donations of used clothing and household items in good condition — no mattresses, baby gear, large appliances, auto parts, cleaning products, tires or building materials.
