Recipe for spring success

- JOANN RYAN

Is it finally spring? The elements are beyond our control but we can do something positive by following the Chamber’s recipe for spring that is healthy, happy and tasty.

It’s really quite easy because we have the right ingredients, the energy to prepare and create a winning project and the enthusiasm to make good things happen.

Start with a pinch of dedication and belief in our mission to promote economic growth while enhancing the quality of life in NW CT.

Add a cup of the best communities, staff, Board, Corporate Partners, volunteers and members…special family and friends too.

Throw in a dash of spirit and energy created after attending one of many Business After Hours, Business With Breakfast and Restaurants in the Spotlight to make new best friends and customers.

Add a slice of the Chamber special events, perhaps even the Trip to beautiful Portugal in November. Hurry…there’s room for you!

Include a tablespoon of SCORE and the Entrepreneurial Center of Northwest Connecticut Community College to guide you through hot topics.

You might even want to throw in the ideas from the Manufacturer’s Coalition, Healthcare Council and small businesses who offer their suggestions on how to deal with this challenging business climate.

Now…what to do with these delectable ingredients…

Grind away at the challenges small business, the service industry, educators, manufacturers, retailers, health care providers, financial institutions and non-profits face on a daily

basis.

Mix up the business leaders, the legislative delegation and public officials to find solutions.

Blend a generous mix of businesses that will be showing off their products and services at the Great Giveaway Business Expo on May-10th. Booths are available so call immediately to reserve your space.

Stir the pot to smooth out any bumps and lumps encountered on a daily basis.

Broil the negative to whisk away any problems.

Enhance the ingredients and celebrate your plans with some heart medicine and a dollop of fun and laughter.

Share with all because it is in business working together that we’ll pass the taste test.

We’re well on our way to an amazing recipe for spring! Bon appétit!
