Students to stage ‘Fiddler on the Roof ’

WINSTED — “Fiddler on the Roof,” presented by the theater program at Region 7 high school, will be performed April 27-19 in the Les Ober Theatre at 100 Battistoni Drive in Winsted.

Shows are April 27-28 at 7 p.m. and April 29 at 2 p.m. in the The production is directed by Keith Winegar.

The story centers on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as outside influences encroach upon the family’s lives. He must cope both with the strong-willed actions of his three older daughters, who wish to marry for love — each one’s choice of a husband moves further away from the customs of his faith — and with the edict of the Tsar that evicts the Jews from their village.

Tickets can be reserved in advance by calling 860-469-2338, and will also be sold at the door. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students, and $5 for senior citizens for the April 29 show.

Members of the cast include Ryan Delayo as The Fiddler, Jacob Taylor as Tevye, Karissa Cooper as Golde, Makayla Balducci as Tzeitel, Lilly McGrath as Hodel, Chloe Martin as Chava, Amanda Geiger as Bielke, Maya Clark as Shprintze, Zack Geiger as Motel and Duncan Demichiel as Perchik.

The cast also includes Josh Pinton as Fyedka, Chloe Glassel as Yente, Elijah Lovejoy as Lazar Wolf, Nick Barber as the Rabbi, Jack Miller as the Rabbi’s son, Jack Lewis as Avram, Colin Quigley as Yussel, Jon Chappel as the constable and Madie Gianconia as the innkeeper.

Ensemble members include Leann Grogan, Alyssa Borelli, Emma Lavery, Parker Brobston, Franky Brobston Heaven Diaz, Jordan Revaz, Danielle Ray, Faith Miller, Eliana Giantonio, Lili Warner, Hannah Kronengold Kayla Norway, Sheridan Brierre, Aspyn Bean, Willow Stewart, Sophie Demichiel, Mattie Vandiver, Evie Hansen, Jill Keegan.
