Board governance expert to lead workshop
LITCHFIELD — Chuck Loring, considered one of the nation’s top authorities on board governance and fundraising will hold a workshop, “High Performing Fundraising Boards,” from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on May 17 at Wisdom House, 229 East Litchfield Road, Litchfield.
The fast-paced workshop will cover several topics critical to achieving exceptional board leadership. Sustainable fundraising is the goal for every nonprofit organization and it is possible with an engaged and educated board of directors.
The event is co-hosted by the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation and the Connecticut Community Foundation.
Loring is a senior governance associate for BoardSource and senior partner of Loring, Sternberg & Associates, which provides governance consulting services to nonprofits.
Loring has helped nonprofits nationwide strengthen their boards and improve governance practices, and advanced the missions of worldrenowned organizations such as Special Olympics, Second Harvest Food and The Susan G. Komen Foundation.
