NCCC professor completes Disney leadership program
WINSTED — Northwestern Connecticut Community College Professor Valerie Royals attended the Disney Institute Leadership Excellence Program at Walt Disney World from March 27-30.
This intensive, multi-day experience focused on identifying and developing leadership skills that can enable a manager to establish, operationalize, and sustain organizational values and vision.
“This was one of the most valuable professional development activities in which I have ever participated,” Royals said. “The instructors were outstanding and the course material was well organized and very informative. I can share the valuable knowledge and insights that I learned with my students when I incorporate these strategic lessons into my Business Communication, Management, and Human Resource Management classes.”
Royals is chairwoman of the Business and Computer Technology Department at NCCC and has been a business educator at the college for more than 30 years. She was the recipient of the 2017 Educational Excellence and Distinguished Service Award that was presented in recognition of her contributions to the college community and her commitment to educational excellence.
