Connecticut Artists show features variety of media

-

WOODBURY — Fine Line Art Gallery in Woodbury’s annual Connecticut Artists’ Spring Show will take place April 27, 28 and 29, according to a news release from the gallery.

The exhibition draws crowds from the tri-state area, eager to see the newest creations of awardwinning local and regional artists. Included in the show will be oil, watercolor, acrylic and pastel paintings, as well as prints, photography, one-of-a-kind jewelry, pottery and glass.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, with an artists’ reception on April 28. Refreshments will be served throughout the day, and many artists will be available to discuss their work and creative process.

Among the artists featured at the show will be Naugatuck photographer Mary Summa. Summa uses her understanding of photography to create depth and life in her images by seeking light, color and form in landscapes. Her passion is to capture scenery that speaks to solitude and stillness in being. Also featured is fused glass artist Maryann Meken Silvestri, of Danbury. She explores the ancient techniques of fusing glass and enhances the process with contemporary technologies. She creates one-of-a-kind pieces of art.

Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fine Line Art Gallery was founded in 1993, with the mission of promoting the work of local artists, as well as raising the awareness and appreciation of the various art forms represented at the gallery. The gallery is a cooperative venture consisting of 15 award-winning artists who participate in its operation and host several shows and events each year. Fine Line is at 319 Main St. S.
