Orthopedists to hold pre-race clinic

TORRINGTON — Litchfield Hills Orthopedic Associates will host a free pre-race running clinic on May 9, at 6:30 p.m. at their Torrington office, located at 245 Alvord Park Rd. The clinic will offer training tips and strategies to prevent common injuries for race participants of the 42nd Annual Litchfield Hills Road Race. Dr. Jennifer D’Amico, podiatrist; Dr. Leigh Brezenoff, orthopedic surgeon; Lee Falk, P.T.A.; and the rehabilitation staff of Litchfield Hills Orthopedic Associates will speak about running health and injury prevention topics and answer questions. Light refreshments will be served, and manual demonstrations will take place.

Saturday in the Park planning underway

The Torrington Arts and Culture Commission will present the annual Saturday in the Park event on June 3 beginning at 10 a.m. Held at Coe Memorial Park, the event includes an arts and crafts fair, live music, food and beverages as well as an appearance of the Market Place Express train with rides around the park.
