HISTORY CLUB: The Gunn Historical Museum’s Washington History Club at Night will meet in the Wykeham Room of the Gunn Library on Tuesday, May 15, 6:30 p.m. The topic of discussion will be the Washington Volunteer Fire Department, which was founded in 1926 and has been protecting the community for over 90 years, and their annual summer carnival which started in 1937 and provided entertainm­ent to generation­s of Washington’s residents. FREE LIBRARY OPENING: The David M. Hunt Library will unveil its British-themed Little Free Library, or LFL, at Toymakers Café, 85 Main Street in Falls Village, on Saturday May 19, at 4 p.m. It is a replica of the iconic British red phone box and will be stuffed with free books for the whole community, visitors, and hikers of all ages. A bake sale on Saturday will show off the skills of Falls Village’s talented bakers and the library’s Upstairs/Downstairs Book Sale will have a selection of gardening books, including a section of free bonus choice books, one for every $30 spent on plants and bake sale items.
