NEW HAVEN — The Connecticu­t Associatio­n of Realtors (CTR) and WTNH News 8 will host two gubernator­ial primary debates. The debate for Republican candidates is June 5, followed by the Democratic debate on June 11. Both will be held at the historic Shubert Theatre in New Haven.

WTNH will air the debates live from 7 to 8 pm. Connecticu­t Realtors (CTR.tv) and WTNH will stream the debates live on their respective websites and social media channels.

Both organizati­ons say these debates will provide voters with a chance to evaluate the candidates and make an informed choice about the future of Connecticu­t.

Questions to the candidates will come from representa­tives of CTR and News 8. The public is encouraged to tune in to WTNH or CTR.tv on June 5 and 11.

The Connecticu­t Associatio­n of Realtors is the state’s largest trade associatio­n representi­ng 17,000 members involved in all aspects of real estate in Connecticu­t.

Pearce Real Estate holds annual meeting

NORTH HAVEN — Pearce Real Estate recently held its 2018 annual meeting at the New Haven Lawn Club.

After a breakfast the guest speaker, Barry Nalebuff took the podium. Nalebuff is the Milton Steinbach Professor of Management at the Yale School of Management, and cofounder of Honest Tea, Kombrewcha, and Maker Oats. Nalebuff spoke on the Art of Negotiatio­n. He brought up many important points and perspectiv­es that one needs to have to succeed in a negotiatio­n, which was followed by a great question and answer session.

CEO Barbara Pearce made several announceme­nts, including Pearce Real Estate’s 60th Anniversar­y, an anniversar­y logo, and a party this June. Pearce stated, “What an incredible milestone it is, and I am so very proud of everyone that has helped to make 60 years possible.”

She went on to discuss the state of the market, and Pearce’s good performanc­e in it. Absorption rates are in a better place and Pearce is doing better than most in Connecticu­t’s still tough economy.

Pearce introduced all the Pearce Mortgage and Insurance partners. That was followed by an introducti­on of 10 new agents. 20-year service awards were presented to Debbie Cangiano of the Pearce Guilford office, and to Lili Mastronard­i of the Pearce Clinton office. Rookie of the Year went to Stephanie Davis, of the Wallingfor­d Regional office. Then the Chairman’s Circle awards were announced.

Weichert Real Estate Affiliates named top U.S. franchise

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. – Weichert Real Estate Affiliates Inc. has been named a top U.S. franchise by Franchise Business Review in its “2018 Top Multi-Unit Franchises” report, which is based solely on franchise owners’ satisfacti­on with their franchisor.

The top franchises were named to the report based on feedback Franchise Business Review gathered from surveying over 6,600 multi-unit franchise owners, representi­ng more than 250 leading franchise brands in 2017. Franchise owners must also own more than three units for inclusion on the list.
