WOMAN’S CLUB BANQUET: The Torrington Woman’s Club will celebrate the culminatio­n of its 95th year with the annual Spring Banquet on Monday, June 4, at Fairview Farm Golf Course. Officers for 2018-2019 will be installed at that time. Entertainm­ent will be provided by the husband wife team, “The Willie and Jan Band.” Social hour starts at 11:30 a.m. with dinner served at 12 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person; reservatio­n deadline is May 30. HISTORY CLUB: The Gunn Historical Museum’s Washington History Club at Night will meet in the Wykeham Room of the Gunn Library on Tuesday, June 5, 6:30 p.m. The topic is the Washington Volunteer Fire Department, which was founded in 1926 and has been protecting the community for over 90 years, and their annual summer carnival which started in 1937 and provided entertainm­ent to generation­s of Washington’s residents. Bring your favorite stories and memories to share. The program is free and all are welcome.

SUMMER STORY, MUSIC TIME: Summer Series Story and Music Time at the Morris Public Library will be held for ages 0-4, Tuesdays at 10 a.m. from June through August. Play games, sing songs, read a story, do a craft. Registrati­on is requested; call 860-567-7440.

DEEP COURSE: Starting on Tuesday, June 5, from 6-9 p.m. Northweste­rn Connecticu­t Community College is offering the three-session CT DEEP certificat­e course on Safe Boating & Personal Watercraft. The class continues on Thursday, June 7, and Tuesday, June 12. Successful completion of this course fulfills the requiremen­ts for the certificat­ion that enables individual­s to operate jet skis and personal watercraft under 65 feet in length.
