Count on Stanley Heller

-

It’s often comforting to know there are things we can always count on. It’s not so comforting to know we can always count on is Stanley Heller (Forum: Say it ain’t so, Chris Killoy, May 25, 2018), conjuring up pretexts to totally distort and misrepresent the nature of the genocidal Palestinian Arab war on Israel.

In typical fashion, in his op-ed “Say it ain’t so, Chris Killoy,” Heller uses the pretext of a company based in Connecticut makes sniper rifles. He segues to the deaths what he calls “unarmed victims” in Gaza even though every one of them was involved in violent rioting by mobs admittedly trying to storm through the Gaza border and start murdering Israelis in nearby towns, more than 80 percent have been identified or claimed as members of Hamas, Fatah, Islamic Jihad or other terror groups and there is no reliable evidence that any of them were unarmed.

Meanwhile, those supposedly peaceful demonstrators threw stones, tossed firebombs, fired at Israelis and set numerous fires across the border in Israel. They repeatedly vandalized the Kerem Shalom crossing through which Israel transfers massive amounts of humanitarian assistance to the people in Gaza and destroyed power lines bringing electricity into Gaza. When Israel tried to send desperately needed medical supplies to Gaza, Hamas refused to let the supplies in.

One of the many perverse aspects of the sad situation is that Israel keeps trying to help the people of Gaza while Hamas keeps trying to get as many as possible killed.

Some things never seem to change. When Stanley Heller writes something about the Arab-Israeli conflict, we don’t have to plea “say it ain’t so, Stanley,” since we already know it ain’t so. Alan Stein, president emeritus, PRIMER-Connecticut (Promoting Responsibility in Middle East Reporting)
