CANDIDATES FORUM: The Washington Democratic Town Committee will host a forum featuring the Democratic candidates, Mary Glassman and Jahana Hayes, who are vying for Elizabeth Esty’s 5th Congressio­nal Seat. Esty, a member of Congress since 2013, will not seek reelection in November. The 5th district encompasse­s the north and western parts of the state extending from Danbury to New Britain. Most of Waterbury is in the 5th District. The forum will be held at Washington Town Hall on Sunday, July 8, 1:30-3 p.m.

WINSTED FARMERS MARKET: Farmers Market continues its 2018 weekly market season on Sundays, 10- a.m.-1 p.m. at Rowley Field. SENIORS NATURE HIKE: Area seniors are invited on a leisurely, informativ­e hike through Flanders’ Van Vleck Sanctuary in Woodbury, Tuesday, July 10. The hike will be easy to moderate on forest trails with master naturalist Dr. Ed Boisits. Though arranged to especially for seniors, all are welcome on the hike.
