Thanks to supporters of DVFD boot drive

-

On Saturday, June 30, the Drakeville Volunteer Fire Department hosted a boot drive at WAPJ Studios on Water Street to benefit the Department’s General Fund. Both firefighters and associate members greeted motorists on Water Street to collect donations. We are proud to announce that we raised $1,124.11.

The Department was truly humbled by the generosity and care shown by the motorists that drove by. After donating, some even came back with water bottles to keep us cool in the sun. We are also equally thankful to WAPJ Studios and John Ramsey for allowing us to use the studio as a headquarters for the day. The Department and WAPJ have always enjoyed a partnership that demonstrates the power of community collaboration. When we all work together, our community moves forward.

The fundraisers that DVFD organizes are critical for our department as they help offset costs that are incurred with day-to-day operations. The support of Torrington residents is truly appreciated as we continue to provide service across the community. We hope that everyone has an enjoyable and safe summer! Thank you again!
