8 suspects arrested in warrant sweep
TORRINGTON — The Torrington Police Department, along with 90 other law enforcement agencies across the state, participated Wednesday in a statewide warrant service operation.
Starting at 6 a.m., police officers and detectives partnered with adult probation officers to serve arrest warrants in the city. As a result, eight people were arrested on active warrants and onsite violations — some had more than one arrest warrant, police said in a Facebook post.
These people were taken into custody:
⏩ Jeffery Lovallo, 37, of Belleview Avenue, was charged with violation of probation and held in lieu of $1,000 bail.
⏩ Robert Hancock, 50, of Beechwood Avenue, was charged with three counts of violation of probation and was held in lieu of $15,000 bail.
⏩ Michael Pelletier, 31, of Summer Street, was charged with failure to respond to violation and held in lieu of $1,000 bail.
⏩ Edwin Torres, 49, was arrested after a search of his home and charged with criminal possession of a firearm and altering the identification mark on a firearm. Torres was also charged with violation of probation. Torres was held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
⏩ Tina Morey, 44, of Oak Avenue, was charged with criminal trover and sixthdegree larceny and held in lieu of $1,500 bail.
⏩ Cassandra Spada, 29, of East Albert Street, was charged with second-degree failure to appear and was held in lieu of $2,500 bail.
Jeimy Rodriguez, 33, of New Britain, was charged with second-degree failure to appear and released on $2,500 bail.
⏩ Wallace Rand, 47, of Cardinal Circle, was charged with assault on a police officer and held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
