SEA OTTER: Return of the Sea Otter, With Author Todd McLeish, will be held Aug. 9, 7-8 p.m. Journey along the Pacific Coast from California to Alaska to track the status, health, habits, personalit­y, and viability of sea otters, which were hunted to near extinction in the 18th and 19th centuries. NORFOLK FARMERS MARKET: The Norfolk Farmers Market will be held on Saturdays through October, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at 19 Maple Avenue. DETECTIVE FICTION: A Random Stroll through Detective Fiction, Continued, at the Cornwall Library, will be held at 5 p.m. Aug. 11. This is the second half of Jim Fishman's earlier talk on detective fiction. He will offer vignettes of the leading writers, a surprising number of whom used pseudonyms despite, or perhaps because of, being distinguis­hed in other fields. Every writer he’ll mention is represente­d in the Cornwall Library’s excellent collection. He will also recommend some authors and detective novels that may be unfamiliar.
