TORRINGTON — The Torrington Police Activities League in partnership with area organizations will be holding the 11th annual Northwest Connecticut Junior Dress for Success Free Back to School Clothing/School Supply & Community Resource Informational Fair on Saturday, (rain or shine) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Torrington Armory and Coe Memorial Park on South Main Street.

This event allows over 400 area families to “shop” through donated items to help their families start the school year with clothing and school supplies. Back to School supply shopping costs the average American family over $683 per child between school clothes and supplies, according to American Express. Donations may be brought to Doyle's Medical Supply, 25 Coe Place in Torrington, or to the Torrington Armory on Friday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Pick ups can be arranged by calling Baraco at 860-482-5682. Torrington Public Schools will also have a table in front of City Hall at Main Street Marketplace on Wednesday evenings weather permitting.

In conjunction with the Junior Dress for Success component, families can visit Coe Park to meet with various community service providers including representatives from the Torrington Public Schools, while enjoying free food and entertainment for their kids.
