Pro wrestling champs coming to Torrington next month

- STAFF REPORTS

TORRINGTON — Descension Pro Wrestling will present “As Darkness Falls,” a championship event including an “Iron Man Match” with Bobby Ocean vs. “Sexy Jesus” Hammer Tunis, at the Knights of Columbus hall in Torrington, on Saturday, Sept 8. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the first match begins at 7 p.m .

DPW show organizers describe the upcoming match this way: “Sexy Jesus is very dissatisfied with the DPW head office. He claims that ever since the tournament to crown the first champion, he has never gotten a fair shake at the title. He has been forced to deal with biased special guest referees and multiman matches. He states that if it were a 1-on-1 encounter, he would be the victor.

“Bobby Ocean has been the quintessential fighting champion ever since he first won the title,” the statement continues. “He has stated that he backs down from no man, and will continue to defend the championship with honor. As such, he has accepted the challenge, and will defend his title in a 30 minute iron man match, stating that he wants no more excuses as to who is the better man.”

Other wrestlers appearing Sept. 8 include Ryan Fraust, Sammy Diaz, Big Jim Sullivan, Dicky Moon, Good Hank Flanders, El Jabroni, Liam McFerrin, Saru Saru, Harry Zen, Jack Krueger, The Epidemic, Insane Dick Lane, Dan de Man, Northern Fury, Judge Chambers, Moonshine McCreedy, Jimmy Meaz and Joseph J. Alexander.

The Knights of Columbus Hall is located at 152 Litchfield St., Torrington.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for under 12, free for under age 6 with an adult, and will be sold at the door. To reserve in advance, go to escensionprowrestling.com or https://www. facebook.com/ events/2054192694909994/
