‘Shared Visions’ opens Sept. 6

TORRINGTON —Five Points Annex Gallery, located at 17 Water St., will open “Shared Visions” Sept. 6, continuing through Sept. 30.
The exhibition will feature the landscape and urban paintings of eight Connecticut artists with a variety of styles used to express the popular painting genres of plein air and alla prima.
The artists form the group Green Pond Painters, unified by the fact that they all began as students of the nationally renowned Sherman artist Anda Styler.
This exhibition will showcase the works of Anda Styler, Bethe Bogues, Jane Didona, Marina Golos, Janet Iffland, Jennifer O’Brien, Carole Southall, and Tara Nix Wood.
Five Points Annex Gallery will hold an opening reception on Friday, Sept. 14, 5:30-8 p.m. Gallery hours are 1-5 p.m. Thursday-Sunday.
As a special feature for this exhibit, exhibiting artist will often be found working on paintings in the gallery. There is no admission charge. All Five Points and Five Points Annex Gallery exhibitions and educational events are free and open to the public.
The Annex, an expansion of the Five Points Hartford Art School/ University of Hartford Launchpad program, is a community pop-up gallery managed by the Launchpad artists. Located just steps away from the Five Points Gallery in historic downtown Torrington, The Annex Gallery offers a unique opportunity for local and regional artists/artisans to engage their community by offering a space to show their work.
