HVRHS OPEN HOUSE: Housatonic Valley Regional High School’s annual open house will be held Sept. 13, 6:45 p.m. in the Henry Burgess Auditorium. Parents will follow their child’s schedule, meet members of the faculty, staff, and administration, and receive an overview of each class’s content and expectations. They will also learn about the high school’s cocurricular offerings, student activities and social and service groups.

THE SPARKS CONCERT: Event: The Sparks of Torrington will give a concert at the Noelke Gallery, 15 Water St. Torrington,, Sept. 13 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. with performances by local musicians and bands Amelia Ellis, Sophic Bloom, Ian Matthew, Old Bones, Living Weary, Yankee Blues, and American Amnesia. The line-up covers a range of genres, from acoustic folk and blues to 90s alternative to punk and hip hop. Admissin is $5 to $10 at the door and all ages are welcome. Proceeds benefit the artists.

SHRED DAY, FOOD DRIVE: Salisbury Bank is sponsoring a Free Shred Event and Food Drive, Sept. 15, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Sharon branch of Salisbury Bank, 5 Gay St., Sharon. Each person may bring up to 4 boxes of paper (no binders please) for shredding by Legal Shred personnel.
