Miles for Moe 5K set

TORRINGTON — The Miles 4 Moe Foundation will present its ninth annual 5K Walk/Run on Sunday, according to a news release. The foundation continues the legacy of Emil “Moe” Renzullo, by supporting organizati­ons such as Camp MOE that provide an outdoor camp experience to children of all abilities. The foundation also supports families who have a child diagnosed with cancer, as well as hospitals and organizati­ons that treat these children.

The Harvest Fest 5K will start and finish at Camp MOE, 1145 Brandy Hill Road, Torrington and consists of paved and gravel roads “with rolling hills and fall foliage views,” members said. Both runners and walkers are welcome. Onsite registrati­on runs from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m., race starts at 10 a.m. Participan­ts can also register online or download and mail the registrati­on form from https:// miles4moe.org/. Finishers will be greeted at the finish line by announcer Dan Lovallo. The race will be timed by Fast Track Timing.

Establishe­d in memory of Emil “Moe” Renzullo, Jr., a very special boy who died from leukemia in 2010, the Miles 4 Moe Foundation Fund is dedicated to raising funds to benefit our local children. The Foundation seeks to continue his legacy by supporting organizati­ons such as Camp MOE, an inclusive summer camp for children with and without disabiliti­es. The Foundation also strives to benefit families who have a child diagnosed with cancer and to support the hospitals and organizati­ons that treat these children.
